Surrounded by rival kingdoms, shifting loyalties, and enemies who are not always what they seem, Peredur discovers that words can be as lethal as open battle. Far from the safety of his unit and stripped of certainty, he is forced to confront the realities of leadership and the cost of responsibility in a land where Roman law no longer holds sway.

Along the way, the young soldier is drawn into a quiet, dangerous search for the Grail—an object bound to Rome’s fading legacy and Britain’s uncertain future, whose true nature is as elusive as the peace Arthur hopes to secure.
